Shell Oil has released a book titled The Colours of Energy (PDF | 4 MB) that contains 36 thought-provoking essays about the energy challenges society faces in the coming decades.

The introduction consists of a foreword by Shell CEO Ben van Beurden and a preface by Club of Rome co-president Ernst Ulrich von Weizsäcker.

The essays are grouped under 6 themes: geopolitics, past and future turning points, fossil fuels, renewable energy, changing patterns of use, and regional perspectives.

All in all, an interesting read.
